Late North County report

Sorry for the late post but this was from last week. On the water by 6am..bait was fairly easy to make with a mix of gb's and Spanish. Worked a dropper loop set up from 80-300' for no love. Moved back in beyond the kelp line around 70' or so with a flyline set up. Heard the right kind of surface crashing behind me.....starting marking fish around 30' so I dropped the iron with a second set up. Hooked an XXXL greenie and made the bait switch with my flyline. No more than 30 seconds after the gb hit the water I was hooked up. Fun battle with the kelp in the mix. 43 inches to the fork and bit over 35lbs.

George, Man, that is awesome! Bigger than any of mine.

How was the launch and landing? I've been hitting it up there about every other week with no luck. The surf and swell has been a little tough at times.

Maybe I will see you out there again soon.

Great fish!

Hey Curtis.....Thanks and yes the launch was a lil rough and definitely got soaked on the way out but luckily it was higher tide on the way in so not bad at all. I ended going out to the left of the lifeguard tower and was a real bitch getting the yak back up erosion hill I hope to be back out sometime next week.

Onetriphudson....Thanks and yeah, it was like a Seaworld touch and feel exhibit on the beach but cool to see the kids get all stoked and excited.
