La Jolla Rockpile 5/26/2017

Sorry for the late report. Launched at 0530, conditions were great, bait was tough, trolled fin bait, got bit by a thresher, 80ft, fought it for a few minutes, bit through my leader, switched gears, went to my rock-piles, got limits, double dropper loop, cut squid, left them biting, nothing caught in less than 170ft, knew of 2 yellows that were caught by others, back on the beach by noon, till next time.

Well, I guess that's fair. Don't need a total spot burn. I honestly don't know what those are though; just moved here in Jan from Boston and I've never seen one. I'm a skunk magnet and couldn't even catch bait on that day.

Various types of Rockfish. Mostly Vermilion, aka Reds.
