You didn't keep that card, that comes with your passport, that says "keep this in a separate place from your passport", separate from your passport?

When you fly you need your actual book which is the peace that is lost

Doesn't it say to take it to the nearest embassy if overseas? I thought its purpose was to help expedite getting you a new one.

Well either way I don't have either parts haha.
But still that peace would be going from land to land.
My fiance just got hers in and that is what the passport office told her it is for.
You have to pay a separate free now to get your passport book, and a different fee for your passport card.

If you pay an extra fee $$$ the Post Office will speed up the process.

Do you have a copy of your Birth Certificate? If so contact the Post Office and put it in on a "Rush" Order. It is going to cost you more but you can get one back in about two weeks. Also try calling to passport office sometimes they can do rush orders right there. Good Luck.

It's called "expedited passport" I believe and I think its around $70 if I can remember correctly, but it comes in like two weeks.

Many years ago, I needed a passport for a last minute trip to Whistler. I ended up at the Federal Building (westwood) and got a passport the next day. But then again, I had all my paperwork. I believe it will take more time to get your docs together than it will to get a passport. Good luck!

If you end up at the Passport Agency you will need to make an appointment and show that you are leaving within two weeks. If you have more than two weeks you can do the "Expedited Passport" thing at the Post Office and it is going to cost you right at $170.00. Good Luck...... Let me know if you need the number for the passport agency and I can get it for you.

IMPORTANT: Check online
http://travel.state.gov/passport/pro...sing_1740.html

They post estimate times as well. Also a number of "agencies" came up with I googled "expedited passport" -- I do NOT know if they're speed it up or are just middlemen. Hit the .gov first and see if you can tell what's real.

SD passport agency

I just went thru the process to get my first passport. Called, made appt for following week, spent half a day in the agency downtown (didn't need to show travel plans, did pay 60 buck expedite fee. picked up the passport at the agency with appointment and 10 minute wait two days later. My understanding is the SD agency is unique in that you don't need to be traveling within 2 weeks to expedite matters, just pony up the bucks. Tip: try to get the first AM appointment and show up a little early. The guard told me someone did that the day I was there and walked out with their passport 2 hrs later.
