Wow. That kinda sucks. I wonder if that same applies to a float tube although the tide change would be a major pain in a tube there.

Tubes are a little easier because your hands are free and your feet are always in the water. With a paddle kayak you have to have an anchor or you drift too fast. Float tubes are easier to launch from other places to so you can avoid the fuzz
