Redondo/King Harbor Parking? Launch?

Hi all,

Hoping to do some easier launches than the beach in the 'Bu, looking at Redondo/King Harbor.

Any suggestions as to parking and launching?

Thanks!

Andy

233 N Harbor Drive, behind Ruby's diner is a small vessel launching barge. I forget how much parking is but most of the establishments in that area has varying amounts of parking validation.

That’s good news! I don’t go to Redondo enough, but I like it there.

At the foot of the pier there was a restaurant that I used visit during football season.

Then it became a headquarters for the project. Now I hear they are gone.

Last I heard it was @2.00/hr.

Some business do validate, but not sure about the details.

Go to the boat hoist and have the attendant stamp you parking stub. Pay four bucks on the way out.

jrip, just like that? He doesn't care if you're in a kayak? Do you launch your kayak at the hoist?

He validates the ticket. I went to the office a couple of months ago and it's a good solution to the parking problem.

You launch from the small boat dock behind Ruby's.

You just write "hand launch" on the back of the ticket and drive out the regular exit. No need to go over to the hoist. The hoist isn't 24 hours anyway. $4 regardless of how many hours.

I was going on instruction from Jennifer but next time we're there I'll try it.
Thanks

Really...? are you sure of this...?
I thought they stopped the "write-in" hand launch rate a couple of years ago...?...and it was always $4 for 8hrs.
Please explain the last time you tried this method.
Thanks...

New PARKING INFO...!

jrip and deptrai...and any other interested kayak fishermen...
I launched at Redondo today and on the way out I talked to Sal and Chad...(the guys that operate the hoist) and I also talked to Sal (the coordinator for the parking attendants)...Sal and Chad at the hoist WILL NOT VALIDATE a parking ticket unless you launch at the hoist and pay their fee...Sal at the parking kiosk at the gate WILL NOT HONOR any parking ticket with Hand Launch written on the back of the ticket...They will honor any validation from any of the vendors if you have spent cash there...!
So...be prepared to spend $2 an hour if you park at Redondo without a valid validation.
If you guys have some other info please share it as I love to fish this area.

Again, I got my info from Jennifer Sandoval in the main office.
The hoist operator stamps the parking ticket.
