Upgrading Fish finder

I am thinking about upgrading my little Humminbird 170 to the 570. Can this be done? The original install was by Brian and CJ at the mission bay shop, so knowing they live "here" can I make the swap or are we talking cutting out the old one and figuring out a way to mount the new?

if you are talkin about the quick release for the head unit, it should be the same, I believe..., might be wrong, but just compare part #s of the bases at HB.com

The 170 and the 570 have totally different bases But the power cord and transducers are the same, if you change the base mount you will be ok

Also the 570 is many times better than the 170.

hope this helps
