April 9th in Oceanside

After a great day of bass fishing for dinner, I decided to head home for the day. Why is it, that when we are finished, we leave the fish finder on? Because you might go over a school of bait. And then you might turn around and throw an MC swimmie into the mix and you might hook up to a nice 30 lb. (just a guess) Thresher shark! I was able to follow him with my Hobie Mirage Drive to help keep the line pressure to a minimum. I don't think I could have landed him otherwise. This Thresher was caught on 12 lb. Halo on a Curado 200. What a thrill and what a day! Bob, you want some?

30#? Maybe 5# of quality cuts? Sorry but your last picture should have been that baby's tail swimming away...just saying.

thresher

OK. Now I feel like crap. Message received. This is the first time I have ever seen a live thresher shark and he looked huge to me in the water. Now I know better. Please don't pile on.

Hay Bro don't let everyone jump on you. As Long as all the meet gets used don't worry about it. Threshers are Great on the BBQ and the smaller ones have less mercury in them. just next time shoot for one at least twice that size. Great job on 12# tho
