I can't say why,
but something in me says it's Catalina.
Maybe it's more local...maybe?

What are you guys waiting for, all you need is a mask and a gun then you could stop sitt'in around in the kelp all day wish'in for seabass and take your pick ...shoot, by the looks of it you could probably get away with a polespear!!

As to the location do you really need to know?? I'm sure it's not LJ cause there's no fish there!!! I checked.

might have been la jolla, he didnt shoot any so he may have been diving in the reserve. it didnt look to deep where he was? just about every other video he has is of him shooting his spear at a fish, hawaii, qatar you name it. his camera is mounted to his speargun. so wouldnt be suprised if he just brought it for the footage

he claims the last one was in the video 90-100lb range... he must be a small guy.

what's interesting for me (who's yet to catch one of those on the kayak ) is to see how they live and swim and what they're doing. also, to see what the underneath of the kelp looks like. spend forever on top of it, never get to see the other side. they really meander and just hang out. not really aggressive fish. almost wanna just tie off to the kelp, drop a mac down, then go to sleep
