Weight of weights

I've never been out at la jolla and I'm prepping my equipment and looking at my weights made me wonder, what size weight is most common to drag those green backs to the bottom?

I use 8oz whether I'm fishing Cabrillo or LJ. I've caught 5 YT, 5 WSB and countless Butts on the same setup and all while pounding sand.
