rookie question about keeping fish fresh

At the home page of BWE, the random photos come up and I see pics of fish at the beach, or out on the water. All good - makes sense. Then I see pics of the fish caught being weighed by a tree, or another pic of the fish on the sidewalk at the house, or in the backyard being weighed on the tree...seems to me a lot of time not keeping cool. None of them appear to be gutted, or cut to bleed. From my understanding, to keep the meet clean, it is best to bleed and or gut the fish. I can understand not gutting it before weighing, but isn't it best to at least bleed them? I never see pics of them on ice in the cooler either.

Most of those pics are probably tourneys, probably just pulled out of the cooler for the pic or ready to be thrown in. Some might not even bleed it for a tournement. Some people even leave ther yak on the beach to get the big bucks for first fish weighed

If you want the freshest fish......

Pull a gill and bleed it right away. Then get it on ice as soon as you can.
