NPH 1/16/11

First time out to NewPort harbor. Weather was nice. Launched at 8am from the aquatic center and peddled out past the break wall to make bait. After filling my bait tank with mackeral and a couple of anchovies headed back to drift for halibut just before the PCH bridge. A couple raked baits but no fish. Had to get off the water by 2 to go help my brother move furniture. All and all, nice day on the yak. Looking forward to heading out again reel soon.

That's a lot of paddling. Why not launch from the CG beach? There's lots of butt's in that area too. Thanks for the report.

Sorry, the Coast Guard/Harbor Patrol beach off of Bayside. Take Jamboree to Bayside and hang a left. Go about 1/2 mile and the parking lot will be on your right. Look it up on Google Maps and you'll see you'll save yourself a couple miles of paddling. That of course means more fishing time
