Baja or Bust

Got back from Baja yesterday, was tough fishing, very windy, got a lot of video. I'm going to do the video in a couple of parts, maybe 3 or 4 parts possibly.

And yes I know I misspelled "Continued"...what was I thinking?

Enjoy the video.

PART II
Baja or Bust part
-->II

PART III
Baja or Bust part
--->III

PART IV
Baja or Bust part
--->IV

Watching that video made me depressed that I wasn't there. I hope the wind stays down this summer in baja. That sucks about your drive did you have a spare? Already waiting for the next vid...

Wow! Tony your video production keeps getting better and better great video!

Special Thanks to Team Sewer for donating the nice glass tables. They were super sick.

I hope I can actually fish with you guys some time!

It was nice meeting some of the guys like Ful-Rac and others that I have watched and been inspired by here on BWE for years... Can't wait for the next trip!

I was definitely hesitant to ride all the way down to G.B. with Tony and HIS CAMERA. I mean...puhleeze don't dog me Holmes. But I loved it, cool video again! Keep them coming.

When we pulled up to MakoRoberto's and ROBMONEY's place...WOW, a true million dollar plus property. You definitely found the right place and are very gracious and good peeps, thank you for having us. You two are the real deal.

Caught quite a few fish within the morning and dusk windows. Had several shots at the quality Cabrilla on top water stuff. Unbelievable surface blowups, two hookups, two breakoffs. Best fish for me was a 50# Lemon Shark that chewed on a Spottie attached to my Kroc on the bass rod.

Photo of Tony with his riding glasses on was no joke. It was sandblast city at times. Sideways tent is the wind actually pushing the staked tent to the side. Plus, nothing better than a Baja sunrise...Jim

The video looks good....can't wait for the rest.

The wind looks damn serious. Side-ways tent. Tony and his goggles. Jim's comb-over going sideways.

I may have to get a new kind of shelter just for Baja.

I see you're parking right on the beach, is a 4x4 need for the trip?

That's the beauty of this specific location. There's a level of risk that some/most aren't willing to take. But that's also why this is a pristine spot. I saw three vehicles get stuck while there (including us). Is that a lot? That depends on your tolerance and stress level. Sand is sand. LJ Shores can be nice and firm or it can be a vehicle trap and everything in between. Same with Baja. The real questions go back at you...What's the level of risk you're willing to take? If you get stuck, do you have the things needed to get your self out? What's the probability that someone nearby can help you. Weigh those factors and make the decision.

That's a plus about going in a caravan (there are minuses!):
there's usually a good truck in the group
you've got experienced people who know the area
If you really need something, someone's usually brought it...tow strap, compressor, etc...

Hope this helps, Jim
