VHF

After years of yakfishing I finally picked up a Standard Horizon VHF. What channels should I be listening on for casual chatter, Coast Gaurd / Weather reports?

Cheers

I have the 751.
Chanel 16 for coast guard(emergency only)
You should have a weather button, with 10 channels.

you can program it to scan the most used channels 68-75??

I got the HX850S, they are great! but remember those handheld VHF they only got 5 to 7 mile range on stray line, and kayakers are at sea level in case if you want to transmit.
