I got a sit-inside that I will sale for 150$. Comes with a paddle and a splash skirt, has 2 rod holders. It's nothing special but worked great as a beginner rig for me. PM if u or anyone else is interested.

Ive seen some kayaks that are around 400 on craigslist that have been up for a while im sure you could talk 1 down in price.

Tell him the explorer is a great 1st yak. stable, fairly quick for its size and can handle quite a bit of weight. I used to take mine out in La Jolla and had no problems with launching or handling the swells further out. For a smaller yak, it is awesome.
