You should talk to oex mission bay. They have a couple stealth yaks that are factory blems but brand new. Great prices

I've been doing some homework on the stealth 12 from what I read it takes water from the front hatch and won't drain.

From what I read, all older stealth models have this issue regardless of if it's a 12 or 14. My 12 has the issue, but it needs to be dumping before I get a significant amount of water in it.

I have an older 14 and it doesn't have that issue. You can add weather striping under the hatch to help

I have the 12 and it gets very little water in the hull after several hours on the water. But for sure it depends on the conditions, how well the launch went and the landing. That's when the water gets in.

I originally had a 14 and for me it was just a little to big. I bought a blem from one of the OEX deals and I couldn't be happier...well maybe a more comfortable seat than the COD seat. So this week I went to West Marine and got the GTS Expedition Kayak Seat. Can't wait to try this one out.

Yep. I just haven't gotten around to doing that fix.

I also have an older 12 and I rarely get much water in it even when I took it out on the Islander trip back in May. But the last time I had it out in Dana Point, it was really pretty rough out near the headlands and when I got back, there was maybe a liter bottle's worth in the hull. Not too bad all things considered, but way more than what I'd had in the past.

It was then that I noticed that the gator hatch wasn't very snug and the straps could be tightened a bit more. So I've done that and will need to see if that solves the majority of the water that gets in.

I have a 2014 Stealth 12 and it barely takes on any water through the gator hatch after you strap the buckles and WRAP THE BUNGEE AROUND THE TWO ATTACHMENT POINTS IN THE FRONT. That last part is key since it snugs down the front.

The seal that is completely useless on my kayak is the center bait hatch. If you use it for bait it doesn't really matter but the first time I went out, I thought I could use it for semi-dry storage since it's convenient to take things out from. Needless to say, I wasn't too happy when I opened it up and my sandwich was floating
