First time out

Took the kayak out for the first time to test things out. Had to make some adjustments to the way I mounted the transducer and realized how much easier life will be once I install a rod holder in front of me but all in all it went well. Although I still have a lot to learn I was still able to pull in a couple of these. I see many more days out on the water in the near future.

I'm in the same boat as you. California fish are different than Hawaii fish. I'd say better by a long shot. Good job on the spotty. What did you catch him on?

Just a little swimbait I had. I think I need to do some tackle shopping though.

Try some Z Man elaZtec paddler Z in Pearl or Copper Penny and they can be rigged using a weedless head if you want to not get stuck in the eel grass. Also helps to use a scent UniButter is a local product that works really well.
