Updating pre-owned Navionics Card?

All, Just curious if anyone has ever gone through the process of updating a pre-owned Navionics card? I finally got my electronics setup dry-rigged and noticed it was really light on data for the west coast water. I'm assuming since this unit was pre-owned and originally used in the midwest on lakes and rivers, it needs the data for the Pacific Coast and oceans. Thanks everyone! - KT
