8-21-07 Pm shift

slow.... Went North to fish for flattys, or more likely leopard sharks... Couldnt make bait at the pier, couldnt even meter bait, seemed lifeless... saw some small marks on the FF, but came back empty every time on the sabiki.... lots of eel grass in the water, nagging wind, made for a slightly bumpy ride... Didn't see many birds working... finally trolleded a CD14 in por nada... decided it wasnt worth my trouble, headed in....

Tonight's sunset...

Ditto for me. Went west, then north. North sucks. West looked fishier, I saw some guy fishing backwards off the yak on the anchor catching cuda.

Thank god for off shore fishing. LJ sucks. Baja sucks. Maybe i'll fish Cardiff... I heard there were WSB abd YT being caught there.

easy limits of YT are off Bird Rock down to almost PB point..
decent grade of fish, 12-20# models.
eating mostly dines and the surface iron
70-130' of water, you'll see the parking lot of boats..
you guys could easily reach it from Tourmaline, or lauch at PB point.

good luck!

Nelz.....bring a rope tomorrow and tow me from the pier So, have you hooked on on the standup rig yet? That would be dreamy

I was thinking the same thing, Nelz.
I went north this morning. Almost to Flat Rock... Launched to ankle slappers at 0530. Nice little breeze from the south, that got stronger as the morning went on. Tough paddle back to the launch with out the shelter of the point. Lot's of bait at the pier. Perfect size macs and dines... but no love.
