transporting kayak on Jeep

Do any of you guys transport your kayak on your jeep?
Is there any racks made specially for jeeps?

Ive got a 2007 Jeep. 2 door. I've got a hardtop though. I haven't found any racks that really make sense without putting a full cage around it for $1,000+. I usually just throw it up on the hardtop on top of a blanket or two then strap it down to the shackles ive got on the front and rear bumpers. I've driven 100 miles with it like this on the freeway no probems.

Hardest part is getting the damn thing up there. Not very easy with 33" tires and 3.5" of lift

I had a jeep until the baby came :-). I used to mount it right to the roll bars here is a picture of it parked with the yak on top. It was great on hot days the water used to splash us in the face and cool us off.

I have 4X4 car too, and I had never experiences any problems with transporting my kayak. I just fixed it on to top and that was pretty much it.
