So little detail. Like depth, what kind of jig ( top water or yo-yo ) location. The ocean and la Jolla doesn't count. Fish move around so you're not giving away the secret spot. You're just giving a complete report. Not just bragging.

caught up with you on your way back in

I was just heading out. Way to make short work of them. Thanks for openly sharing all your secrets. Jig, color, location, etc. etc.... I did manage to break the skunk on a juvenile White Sea bass. Either questionably legal, or 1" short using my measuring tape on paddle. None the less, released to live another day. Again congrats, and thanks. By the way, you had mentioned I was on the border of the State Marine Reserve when I ran into you. I guess making bad in such an area is prohibited? Happy Memorial Day everyone. Hope everyone remained safe.

Yeah nice talking with you. Yes making bait there is a no no. Great job on the WSB always better to let swim away when in question.

my man sorry didn't realize i need to give you a pin drop of the location. I gave a report that i caught some fish. Don't be salty. Same style of report I give every time. It was the first time being out in a very long time due to having a new baby (our first). I have spent hours and hour learning how to fish LJ I have hung more YT, WSB, halibut and bass then i can remember.

But here you go.

Fish caught with light to no wind, YT in 110' bass all over.

Jig slow pitch color blue and pink

reel tranx 400 line 50# maxcuatro leader 40# seaguar fluoro premier

rod Phenix black diamond 809H

Next time i will include more information a pin drop and a video.

I didn't ask for a pin drop or for you to hold my hand. Just a real report.

Agree 100%

This is why many people (myself included) don't post reports here. Kevin tries to help out complete strangers with timely information and you talk shit to him about "not giving enough details".

Hey my guy, you gotta be on the ocean to catch a fish. If a wide open report like this doesn't get you motivated to go get on the water, nothing will. Fishing is about the hunt, not having the bite details fed to you "mama bird" style on the internet. Most OGs on this site would probably say that he gave out TOO MANY details, but hey that's a whole other kettle of fish

My opinion: if somebody told you exactly when, where, how to get a bite... you didn't really catch that fish, you just reeled it in. It was a charitable donation to your cooler. Thanks Kevin for your philanthropy!

Hey Chris, long time no talk brother.. In all fairness I was out that day and it was never Wide Open..

The report clarified a lot however..

I was on the inside with a group.. about 70 feet of water... Kev must have been on the middle out.. straight in front of the condo in that 100 foot range.. There was another group of mostly boats out about 3 miles off the point not but 1 or 2 kayakers there..

The location described here was crawling with kayaks, likely 15.. 5 or so boats scattered...

Thanks for the information Kev, let alone the clarification... Cheers on helping others bruh
like many have said, its about time OTW.. I hit those schools of terns and bass with a jig about 50 times, produced a 15 inch calico , 14 inch white fish, and 2 nice salmon groupers off the bottom.. as a couple others commenters said, after that initial bite which was at sun up- early there was not much unless you waited around 12 hours for the PM bite and tide change when the Tails were spotted and caught again.. Time OTW folks

Nice report but even better reading. Great way to laugh my ass off while I drink my morning brew. And so selfish of you not to give further details as current, how many kayakers out there and their colors. and most important how many ladies were wearing thong bikinis. Next time we expect much more details.
