Had the day off today so headed out this morning. First time out on a weekday and there was no one out. It was just me, a couple of sea dogs, and a lady swimming the channel (I had to do a double take as I wasn't sure what it was but sure enough it was an elderly woman doing the breast stroke, I almost hit her casting as she was so stealthy!).

Launched from coast guard station at 7 (traffic from riverside was horrible). Mostly calm but wind picked up around 9. I fished up and down the main channel and hit a few docks as well. Used hookup baits and keitechs on an underspin. Off the water by 930 to hang out with the kiddos. Short but sweet, was glad to finally get out after a month or so. Final count was 14 mixed bag of sandies and spotties. Here's a few pics (now that Photobucket is making you pay does anyone have a better way of posting pics? I'm using imgur for now).

Awesome report. Those Hookup baits are killing it in the local waters. I really dig Keitech stuff as well. A few of those baits have been my go-to in Marina Del Rey.

I post my pics with the local server here on BWE. It's not the most user friendly way of posting but its super reliable and work firewall friendly.

Thanks for the report. Haven't tried Hookup baits yet, but they sure are popular.

I used to know a lady that grew up swimming in the North Sea, she would swim anywhere..

I guess I need to get some of those hook up baits, it seems that chovy pattern and red crab are doing good locally. Are the guys just bouncing them off the bottom?

The guys I know that are using them are drifting. Slack line, thumb on the spool, feel the bite and set the hook....
