New mirage drive is 530. Why would you think a used one at 425 is priced so low that it might be stolen.

can find new ones for less than 470... To buy a used one for close to new price is a sign person doesn't know value or trying to get more than what there worth..

425 sounds right about the price of a used mirage. Hobie products in good working condition hold value pretty well.

I thought that typcially when converting from regular fins to turbo fins, one only needs to swap out the actual fins and not the entire mirage drive.

Thats the part that makes it smell a little funny. You dont swap the whole drive to run turbo fins.

yeah, something's not right. You just change the fins, not the entire system.

thanks. Thought the same thing.. I deal with complicated fraud at work and its always the same telltale signs.. Not saying these are stolen, but too many red flags..

I got curious and requested a photo of the actual drive and what version it was, the pic didn't survive the trip but the guys emailed reply did. I thoght that the way the drive was installed and secured was different from 2009 to 2013?
Yes/No, anybody?

From the seller of the Mirage Drive:

"I just sent photos of my actual drive. It is from a 2009 sport but I've used it in my 2013 revolution as well. Hope that helps. "

Sounds to me like the guy had a sport and then got a revo with no mirage drive so was using the standard mirage off his sport until he came up on another mirage that had turbo fins. Anything can sound "fishy" when you dont have all the facts. I dont have those facts either and dude could very well be a thief.
