Access to OEX Could be Limited !!!

Hey all was talking with Ryan ( I think?) this morning in the parking lot at OEX and apparrently there is a half-marathon going around Mission Bay happening on the morning of the 14th.

https://sandiegobeachandbayhalfmarathon.com/

Looking through their website it appears that the course is will cross Mission Blvd at San Rafael St which is north of Santa Clara. Mission Blvd MAY BE CLOSED up there for part of the morning. You might want to plan on accessing OEX from the south using Mission Bay Dr to Mission Blvd to Santa Clara.

Race Course: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/fullscreen/1475642689/

I'm not 100% sure this is the best route and I haven't been able to find any notices about road closures related to the Half-Marathon event yet. But its something to think about and keep in mind as you plan for the 14th.

Ok, thanks! Just asked because I usually catch Halibut as a bycatch while targeting bass.

raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each, sorry none included with entry fee. Yes you can fish outside of the bay, weigh boats will only be within the harbor so you will need to bring in to weigh and halibut can be weighed at the beach.

Correct. Unless the weigh boat makes a wrong turn and "accidentally" turns the corner to go fish for WSB at La Jolla....

I'll be out there with a fly rod on Saturday. Not sure if I'll throw the fly solely, but definitely planning to get it wet...

I shot an email to the half marathon people about Road closures and this is what they said, Sea World Drive and Mission Bay Drive will be closed from 4:00am-8:00am. Thanks for bringing up the topic!
