I have two questions regarding the install on the outback, first the mirage drive tie down and pad eye loctated on either side of the round hatch, ae you going over them or off setting the hatch! It looks like the out side edge of the hatch will only cover half the threaded hole. Secondly, the round hatch has a lip on the rear 1/2" from the edge of the hatch rim. It looks like in the picture your stratling the lip, won't that leave a void under the hatch and not letting the hatch seal properly?

buckets are 5" deep, here is another angle to show you how it will sit. The new 2013 even have the 4 corners dimpled to show you where to drill out.

Brent does not have em Eric, but I can get you one.

Thanks for the picture! Do the center hatch screws at the 12/6 positions line up with the PA trim ring?

It looks like those existing holes should line up. Once I get around to installing one I'll confirm.

Will it fit an Oasis, I keep looking at the pictures and looks like it might.

If the answer is "yes", will Mission Bay be able to install?

Got mine in the mail yesturday and the holes do not line up on mine at least. I have an 2010 model and the bunngie and tiedown plug lands right on the trim ring. I would have to cut the backing ring or cut out the molded in threads for it to work. I am going to try and lay the whole thing out tonight and see if it will work or not before i start cutting and let you guys know how is turns out. Also the lip on the backside of the round hatch with be cut out as the whole thing is bigger.

Looks great, thanks for taking the plunge and sharing! It looks like the edges of the bungie and tiedown plug are still slightly exposed? After your fine tuning, would you share a couple more close up pics of the side? Also, how do you like it? Is it sturdy?

Andy, do you think this would work with the Hobie Adventure Island?

Can someone say bait tank?

With just a little more tinkering I see someone putting in a bait tank right there. Kind of like the "kaya tank"

Wouldnt it be great if Hobie made a factory tank option to put right there? Imagine all the room behind you without that big tank?

2013 Hobie product of the year award!

Matt,

Glad it worked out! I had not checked older models as I only had access to 2012. Thanks for posting up the modifications needed.

No this would not work on the Adventures.

Those pics look familiar...

Here is my first outback from June 2005

The boat hatch I installed to try to get a little more storage. It leaked like a SOB.

Back when rats, tights, and water shoes were cool...

Mac's were cool enough to me to take pictures of...

Until I caught one of these- that was the beginning of the end. Can you say cluttered deck?

When can I expect my royalty check from Hobie?

With how much thought Hobie puts into the smallest detail of everything they make, I'm sure this will be a pretty awesome upgrade.
