I'm still working on fat butts.... One tip I can give... It sucks losing $4 cannonballs on snags... I tried using 40lb main line to 3way swicel to 40lb sinker to 30lb flouro on the trap rig....hopijg if I snagged I'd lose the rig not the sinker.... For some reason I'd still lose the sinker lol... I tried a different approach this time. Spectra to cannonball to swivel to 30lb flouro and trap rig.... Worked good... Still got bites and didn't lose any balls.... Only bad part is when bait wraps around that spectra its a bitch to undo the mess... Either way I saved money and caught fish 😀
It helps too minimize knots to maximize your chances of taking that sweet butt home

Here'swhat I do when I get snagged

Put your reel in free spool and paddle in for about 50' or untIL the line is scoped back. Tighten you drag to the max and paddle in a large circle while keeping maximum pressure on the snag. If that doesn't work turn around and paddle in the the opposite direction. 9 out of 10 times you'll get your entire rig back
