Homeguard yellowtail - better days

Got this one on a questionable morning watching the surf roll in on the webcam, and watching the fishermen unload, evaluate, and load back up. Fellow BWE member i was watching paddled for it and aborted twice. My buddy called me, says it's his only day off and we're going.

So I load em up, head down. See dude who was still ready to go after not making it. We all rally and make it through the manageable but fairly intense beach launch, but we all knew the fish were there. Everyone did, but there was only one other kayak fisherman out, the man who took this pic for me. Thanks again.

I got this one on the first drop this day. After days, weeks of drops with nothing. Yoyo. Never felt so lucky. The surf landing was great with this guy on the bow. Completely washed my old ocean yak.

Very nice fish.
Worth the effort while everyone else bails....Your reward=
You did tip your buddy for getting you out there...didn't you?
Not bad for the first drop!

The type of landing one has doesn't matter when there's a pig strapped to the yak...great job!
