If you:
- have a vehicle accident on the way to the beach
- drop your kayak on your toe
- get a hook in your eye
- have a bad launch or landing and bang your head

Then I truly hope you get the rubber-glove-with-no-lube treatment when you’re in the ER. There’s more important things that they should be using their time and resources on.

Yes I’m grumpy from staying at home!

Chance of vehicle is way down because a lot of people are staying home.
Wear steel toed boots if you think you'll drop your kayak.
Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes.
With this bunch, if they bump their head it will only hurt the object they hit...hard headed bunch they are.

I went out yesterday, kept 6 fish. 1 Sandy, 1 vermillion, 1 tree, 2 whitefish, and 1 Sheephead. The Big Waters Edge Market was open but not crowded, the shelves were stocked with a good variety of seafood, and the lines were long (about 100' down) but the wait was enjoyable. My family ate the sheephead for dinner, gave 2 to the pastor's family, gave 2 to an older couple from church, and one to our kid's Godmother.
I plan to go fishing as often as I can. As we all know, IT RELIEVES STRESS!

I wish that were the case but it’s not.
People had flocked to the beaches to get out yesterday.
I don’t have a ton of hope for the curve flattening, the way people are basically business as usual.

his is a fair point to consider. . . though less “serves you fuckers right if something bad happens” and more “please be extra careful if you do need to get out”

The biggest danger in all of this mess is having something catastrophic happen while the system is strained.

If the wind is up or the surf is big, now is a good time to play it safe.

Also a good way to let off some steam with friends. I pulled a freezer filler yesterday and limited out.

I can see both sides as well. Play it safe if you're on the fence about whether or not you should go out. With that said, I did go out yesterday, launched from Mission Point Park, and when I got back in the afternoon I was pretty disheartened by how many people were there hanging out. The 6 ft rule was definitely not being followed.

I work in an ER I would rather see him for any of you points then some dumbass 30 something that "is worried." The covid19 is being way overed played. In SD a city of 3.3 million there are less than 20 people in hospitals right now. Question for you do you know someone with covid19? I work in the busiest hospital in the county we have tested over 1000 people with 1 positive.

California around 40 million people

Positive covid19 around 1500
Deaths 35

The flu kills yearly 80,000 in 18-19 US

Thanks for all the replies guys. Noted all of them and maybe in the future we can link up. I made it out to redondo this weekend (easy drive for me) nabbed a few fish for some ceviche. There seemed to be little regard for distancing among everyone who was out on the board walk. Sounds like local gov't is cracking down on people gathering outdoors now.
