Great report and video! Thanks. Variety and epic conditions. Makes me wonder; if I lived up there, would I fish open water alone? Sure would be tempting. The Tax Man is a bit more aggressive up that way.

Those octopus jigs are super cool. Also hard to find. You got a line on them?

Thanks for the compliments!

Matt, I saw a guy with a really nice ling in that area you describe and I definitely want to hit up some of your spots in Big Sur.

Amish Ed, yes the tax man got a spear fisherman in 2017 at this spot around the same time of year. A guy working at the beach and tennis club made sure to let me know about all the sharks out there as I was getting ready.

TCS, the only place I’ve been able to get the Joes Jigs Octopus jigs are at the Fred Hall show. They have all the different sizes and colors of the octopus heads and replacement skirts in different colors too. The purple head with a brown/orange skirt is a killer.

I’m in Hawaii now and got a chance to kayak fish with Captain Jon Jon Tabon from Discovery Channels Pacific Warriors and will post that report soon when I get back.

Thank you all

Wow, great video bro.

Definitely hit up Matt for the Big Sur experience, it is so awesome, we caught so many Jurassic fish up there.

I was rock fishing in La Jolla yesterday and was thinking all about the great times we had rock fishing the Jewel.
