WSB Heads

CCA CAL is printing new WSB stickers to promote the return of WSB heads to check for tags. We really want to revive the program and encourage fishermen to turn in their WSB heads. This new design has included our CCA CAL logo on the bottom of the sticker
I don't want to get into another pissing contest about the value or importance of the program...I just want to introduce the new sticker and encourage fishermen to turn in their white seabass heads. Simple as that.
If you want to help the program that's great...if you don't, so be it!

I have a head for turning in and plan to do so on Monday morning, they are closed for the weekend I was told. Question, I've carved out the cheeks for my eating pleasure. Then a friend said he thought the chip (if this fish has one) was inserted in the cheek. Do you know if this is true? I have not yet eaten the cheeks and still have them. I just landed the fish on Thursday.

This is the same sticker design that Hubbs has used for years with a change from UA to CCA on the bottom logo.
We debated a new design but felt that this well recognized sticker was the best way to go.
mckenzie...I'll try to get an answer for you ASAP.

WSB tags

Thats exactly where the tag is, the cheek. Just take the cheeks and the head in and have them scanned during business hours. If you want to call ahead...Mike Shane---619-226-3946 (Mission Bay)

You might have to have them scan your morning BM.

Thanks Wolfman.
Mckenzie...on the question about the tag in the cheeks...
Mike Shane responded with this...
"Hi Jim,
Yes the tag is in the cheek muscle. If you can wait until Monday we can check both. If not tagged then you can keep them for eating.

If I'm lucky enough to get another or two, you can bet I'd love to litter the sides of my yak with those stickers! Thanks Jim.

The tags are very small so you need a special metal detector to find them. Bring on the cheeks and the head, Mike Shane will find a tag if its there. Mike

The Hubbs - Seaworld building on Ingraham st. used to have a white chest freezer in their courtyard.

There should be a stack of plastic bags, and drop-off forms - and a pen to write your information with.

You can request to have them return the stones - in which case they will mail them to you.

Here is a Link with some info and locations.
