Well other than the stripping guides the guides on a fly rod are snake guides that are small and have a low profile. They slip underneath the bungee fairly easy with the groove I put in. In addition, most of the water I fish is shallow skinny water so it's easy to get out of the boat and get a new rod off the rack. I wear flats style cothing with flats wading boots and fast dry pants. My major concern was havng rigged fly rods readily at hand and keeping them low as possible. I can't decide if I should paint it black. I imagine paint doesn;t stick to PVC very well. Getting ready for Florida trip.
