LJ yesterday I'm taking up farming

I went to LJ on the yak yesterday to pre-fish for the Moyer tourney this weekend. Long story short.
Made great bait, paddled to spot. Hooked and lost three BIG yellowtail. First came unbuttoned, the second I couldn't turn and it found the kelp. The third ran out to open water and things were looking good until the 50 lb spectra broke. 12 hours on the yak and nothing but bug bait was brought home. Maybe I'll take up farming.

Well...

It takes one to know one, Scott .

I was with Sherm and had the same score, 0 for 3 on solid fish .

I already went back out and evened up the score, though. I landed 4 out of five Yellowtail and brought one home. Knothead really made that decision when he was coming in hot (50' away with the fish doing it's last circle below ). He's taken quite a few baits, but not one of my fish this Summer .

It looks like I'm fishing YFT in the M.A.W. tournament tomorrow, good luck to all in the La Jolla tourny!

I've been feeling like the old man on the sea although I'm not all that old. Paddling and beer for me . Love this tournament.

I figured those fish had to be there for the tourney. My wingman Spyder was behind me on the paddle over to the spot. I tried to call him on his cell phone but got no answer. I was bummed he could not get in on the action. Let's get out soon Jim before the conditions change.

Oh ya.......a huge thanks to Josh for showing me a couple of his secrets. However, I don't know if I want to fish with him anymore. I think I get performance anxiety around him and farm fish. Thanks again Josh for some of the tips. It sure seemed to pay off.

5th time was the charm for this tourney. See you all at the next one.
