newell 300-c

i have a newell 300-c i picked up at a yard sale about 10 years ago.does any body know anything about this reel.it really freespools well.any imput would apreatiated

I have 2 of them one in the 332 and one in the 338 size. they are the first incarnation of the Newell reels. they are a conversion from a Penn 500 the guts are Penn the plates are Newell. Good Reels 4:1 I'll give you a Shimano calcutta 400S (no levelwind series) for it.

I use a 338 on my jigstick and I can huck a surface iron a country mile! Also, easy to change drags in these reels. Keep it serviced and they are great for fish under 50 pounds. Anything bigger and you'll need a new tater hole after your battle.
