Met up with Landwhale and his daughter Heather (he can't drive yet) at the USCG/Harbor Patrol parking lot a little after 6am. we took our time getting ready and were on the water about 7am. Water was cold (no FF today so I don't know what the temp was) and clear with a good out going tide. No fog, but some clouds. We stayed close as Steve didn't know how he would do. Mostly fished the buoy line. I got one 6" spotty and 2 other bites. Me eventually moved to deeper water in search of sand bass, and Steve got 2 in 2 casts. Me nothing but a wet ass when a 50' yacht honked his horn at us and then ran right up next to me. Water sloshed over the side of the yak and thus the wet ass. First time in the Ride have I gotten wet anywhere but my sleeves and pant legs. At about 8:45 we got off the water as Steve was tired. Took our time packing up and chatted for a while. It was great to get out there with Steve again and hopefully we'll try again next week.

Sounds like a good time to me. It's good to hear that Steve is getting back on the water.

Good to see Steve still out on the water, we haven't fished together since DP. I haven't been on my yak since August. Too busy with bird hunting I guess. The season is winding down so it will be time to get the bottom of that yak wet again. Hope to meet up with you and Amish Ed soon
