Sculpin/Sand Bass Spots???

Hello all! I just recently upgraded kayaks and will have it fully rigged to go offshore very soon. I am looking to target some sand bass/Calico bass or sculpin. I’ve stuck to the harbors and lakes the past few years so the big water kayak scene is new to me. Looking to venture out further but I don’t have any knowledge of spots/fishing locations within paddling distance or where to launch to get to the spots, please help! I am closest to the Newport/Huntington Area so the closer the better. Any input will be appreciated!!

You’ll have a lot of fun in the ocean. For bass work the kelp beds with your favorite lure, jig. As for launch access I’m not totally sure as I live in San Diego and stick mostly to La Jolla. Doug a quick search will probably turn up countless threads on good access and launch locations for your area.
