liberty station have you fished there?

anyone ever fish the liberty station channel? i have off on this friday 6/25 and was thinking of trying this area. im going to bring some swimbaits, a crankbait and a spinner on a utralite openface.
testing out the new yak and always wanted to try this area. the parking lot is close to the launch so should be easy to get in the water.
is this area worth spending time in? or should i just go to mission bay which is closer to the house? any tips?

The liberty station channel is really close to our marina, so I have fished there quite a few times.
There are fish to be had... but it takes a lot of casting haha... I did not find the fishing to be overly good. There is a lot of eel grass, so your spinner baits would work well.

Give it a try, you may have better luck than me!

It's a fun quiet channel to fish in. When I was a kid we used to fish that channel all the time after renting the boats from MCRD. You'll have Macs, Bass, halibut, Cudas, and the normal other bay fish. Your choices of baits are great for that area.

I saw that for the first time a few weeks back. I was thinking the same thing, it might have some fish in it.

Let us know how it goes? best of luck

it's okay, that is if there is bait there.

give it a shot, if it sucks, try mission bay.

lots of sandsharks, spotted baybass, undersized Halibut, some corvina, opeye near the pier, bonefish, and maybe a sealion or two. What really sucks is the jet skiers, its a small area so the jet skiers tear it up and instantly kill any chances.
