Forgot I had this

I got this pole as a gift many years ago and it has never seen water. Forgot I even had it. Its a Saber 30-80 lb test 5'7" What is the proper application for this type rod and what reel would you put on it......is it useable in the world of kayak fishing

If you're looking for somn affordable, a 4/0 Penn senator. If money is not an issue an avet JX will work pretty good with this rod. I have a newer 6 ft. sabre rod with a 4/0 Penn senator and its very versatile. You can fish live bait, yoyo, or even bottom fish with it. I've had it for years and they last, as long as you take care of it... Just my two cents.

I'd make that my go to Yoyo rod. Fish the deep iron on 40lb mono, it would be an awesome set-up.

That broomstick is useless, I will gladly come and pick it up from you and dispose of it no charge.

Great trolling and yoyoing as already stated.

Are we discussing the broomstick proped against the door or the one leaning against the wall next to it. Cause that one would be great for hitting fish over the head
