Anyone out Sunday?

I fished Friday (5 crushed baits, nothing stuck) and am thinking about going out again Monday morning (the 21st).

I was at a meeting at the Salk and took a look around from the glider port around 10:30am this morning (Sunday). Except for 2 kayaks off of Black's I couldn't spot a single boat on the water at La Jolla. There could have been kayaks out past the point (no binocs) but certainly no power boats and no 1/2-day boats either. Did all the powerboats head for offshore paddies? A friend with a 22' center console caught two dorado and two yellows about 10-12 miles off La Jolla (northern tip of 9 mile bank?).

I'll be out Monday AM - "Halibut" fishing. :P

See you on the water.

There were at least 8 or so (that I saw anyway) kayak anglers on the water yesterday (Sunday) morning. A buddy and I launched around 5:45 AM, and had a dickens of a time making bait. We were on the water a long time...about 9 hours, and at the end of the day we only had two bonito and two nice calicos. No YTs. I believe we both were bit by yellows on several occasions, but were taken straight down then either spit the bait or slipped the hook. Didn't see any others with a yellow hook up, but we spent a good portion of the day "down south" (so I guess I wouldn't know). We had lodged ourselves in the current break and found ourselves down in front of Windansea in no time. Had a great time paddling (and pedalling) back north to the point. The current was very strong yesterday.

It just seemed like the bite is definitely off as compared to last weekend and the weekend before.
