They are so big! How you going to stretch that 80# WSB down the side with that monster behind you? Or sail fish (come on el nino). They are pretty sweet looking with that black hatch.

It's the escalade of bait tanks, big-heavy when full- expensive.

What was wrong with the old switch, and is there an upgrade switch available for the original?

I guess they were prone to sticking on..........or off. Everyone I had sold has not had any issues I have heard of. No replacement switch that I have heard, I imagine if it goes bad it will be covered under warranty

Andy,
Has the priming issue been resolved as well? I want to purchase one, will you be open during Thanksgiving week?

No priming issues that I'm aware of. The original switch housing was built without enough reinforcement and allowed the internals to flex and break. The new one is overbuilt and has increased space around the internal tube to prevent this. If you have a faulty switch, there is an upgrade kit available free from Hobie.

The switch on my XL tank started giving me problems last weekend. When I slide the switch to the on position nothing happens, but if I tap on the switch it starts working. It's like something inside is sticking. Not sure if I have the original switch before they fixed it or not, bought it about a year and a half ago. Anyone else have this happen?

That sounds like the internals are cracked which was the original issue. Contact Hobie customer service and they'll mail you a replacement kit. All you have to do is unmount the old one, splice the new one in with the parts in the kit and re mount it.

Wow that was easy, thanks! Just called them up and new switch is on the way, no hassle from Jerry at Hobie warranty dept. Excellent customer service!
