Our Beloved Launch...

Went to check out the waves in La Jolla today. They were epic.
I can actually use the word awesome and really mean it.

Thought I'd check up on the launch as well while in the neighborhood...

Cool pics. If I remember right that happened last year or the year before as well. I was down at the shores today and there were actually people in the water surfing . The water looked nasty.

I hope that doesn't take too long to fix.
Did you get any pictures of the waves breaking off the point? I've heard they're huge.

There's definitely some crazy surf right now. It makes me wish I were better at surfing.

Big Storm January 2010

Surf at th point just after sunset Wednesday evening (handheld=fuzzy image)

This afternoon near Children's Pool - total Victory at Sea

While I was out there a thunder cell moved ashore between Blacks and Torrey Pines. I saw several lightning strikes out on the water. Quite a show.

Fallen trees near Seaforth landing

Billy, that pic really gives perspective. The surfer looks tiny compared to that wave.

Where was the seal lady? So, whats with that yellow tape? What does the sign say?

Since I moved up here to the PacNW, I often dial up the LJ Webcam in the middle of winter and remember that beautiful SD County weather. The past few days; the weather up here has been better; that don't happen that much in January; believe me.
Here's a photo of El Ninos past; this one is from the 1983 edition; way more severe than what's happening now. If you go in; don't swallow.

Off topic but too good not to share. Best Scripps surf I've seen since the 96/97 El Nino.
