They would have had much more fun in squirt boats instead of those crappy rentals.

Innovation

Perhaps someone (or a kayak company) will combine features together to make a truly surf-able fishing kayak with leg propulsion. Those in the video were very resistant to the nose-dive action that I see so often for the variety we anglers use. Imagine being able to really launch and land from anywhere along so-cal beach and go fishing. Seem it would be a top seller to me.

I dont understand. What is stopping you from that now?

Thats why I started fishing from a kayak. You drop it on the beach and launch. What has changed?

Even on tiny waves my kayak REALLY wants to go sideways. But it would be fun to head out in a stripped down state and play in the waves.

It should be mandatory^ for anyone who buys a kayak or a hobie. You will get a lot out of it on how your kayak responds and how to wet exit or enter. You should build that muscle memory.

Agree...Jim sammons has some videos of him kayak surfing...fun stuff and definitely boosts confidence levels on what your kayak can or can't do. I used to be nervous coming in on a big surf day...now I wait for the biggest set.
