La Jolla Father's Day Trip

So today being the day I get to go fishing for Father's Day I chose to hit up La Jolla. I got to the Launch at about 6 A.M. unloaded and paddled out. Finally out to the fishing grounds I stopped to make bait.

The bait didn't want to play today so I had to paddle around trolling plastics and rapalas. I paddled a lot today and did not get buzzed by anything on the troll except for some lame personal boater who trolled right behind me and snagged my line. Dude stopped too when I yelled at him to stop. Fortunately I did not lose any gear, but I sure let him know that he's not the only one on the water and that he needs to watch where he's going.
Seeing how the YT and WSB weren't playing today I change gears and dropped plastics down through the columns of kelp. I picked up 1 Rock fish and this 2# Calico.

I photoed, weighed, and released it. I can't remember catching a 2# Calico before so I guess this my personal best for a Calico.

Although I didn't catch what I was initially hunting for, I did have fun and did catch something to make the day fun. Can't wait to get out there again.

I thought I saw you out there. I heard the yelling but couldn't make out what was said. I assumed it had something to do with those jacka$$ boaters getting to close.

the guy cut right behind me and my line got hooked to something on his boat and started ripping line off.

Cool pics Jimmy and nice calico
but the first pic looks like your line might be on the wrong side of the line
if you know what I mean.
