First post, Mission bay 11/27

I wanted to ask if anyone could take me out and show me the ropes, but my account didn't get activated for a week . Its ok I went out by myself anyways thanksgiving morning. I launched from ski beach at 7am. Around 8am near the drain pipe got my first fish on the kayak, 12 or 13 inch spotty. bad pic cause I didn't want to drop my phone.

Then I got a surprise, OCTOPUS! I didn't even know they were in mission bay. pretty cool.

Then I decided to call it a morning around 930am. Didn't get many other bites, except something that took the tail off my plastic.

X2. Having someone with some experience may help the learning curve somewhat but exploring on your own (if you have any prior experience/knowledge) can be rewarding also. Just make sure you take notes or save your waypoints and notice any structure in the area.
At least that's the way I look at things.
Just my .02.
