Whos fishing where this weekend?

Gotta scratch that itch. I'm down for Newport reds or even LA Jolla if I can get a carpool buddy from long beach area.

I was at La Jolla from 6-11am today and it was slow. I didn't see any yellow action. Only witnessed one person bendo all morning on a lingcod.

I'm fishing in the morning. Launching at either Dana Landing in Mission Bay or LA Jolla. Haven't decided yet.

I plan on launching in Mission Bay at first light, hitting the bait barge and fishing just south of OB pier if the weather supports exiting the channel. If it looks like the wind will pickup in the morning I'm going to work from the end of the channel back in drifting some sardines and throwing some swimbaits.

That's kind of what I did today Batmann minus buying the bait. Exit out the channel was easy; slack tide. Goofed around for awhile then let the tide and breeze push me back in. I hope you catch more than I did.

Me and Paul (airborneyak) did alright today...... Went out to my closest spot first drop instant hook up 18" sand bass.... After that it was just reds and one sanddab and short ling for Paul. We both hit our limits of reds... Taco sized with a few bigger models thrown in. Made some great burritos super tasty.. Weather was great!

Dana was a little slow, highlight for me was a thresher for about 20 min before he made a nice jump and broke me off. Still nice to be back on the water with such a busy work schedule not much time to fish lately!

I'm probably heading out of dp harbor this Sunday, solo. I did get a thresher outside of Newport harbor last weekend. I'd say either spot is worth while right now

Damn! I wonder if anyone has tried baiting an area to try and hook and line one hahaha. That would be epic!
