Questions for kayak wars ask here

I got a email to day about kayak wars and I decided to start this thred so if anyone who has any questions I can answer them for you since alot of people here are new to it. Here is kayak wars website again if you haven't checked it out http://kayakwars.com/member_login.php

Here is the question

Brandon,

If you catch lets says a 50lb class white seabass, does kayak fishing wars expect you to measure your fish on your kayak while you are actually on the water?

That could get a little tricky!!

You only need to take a picture of a fish on a measuring board if the fish is 25 inches or smaller. If it is a kayak wars record fish then I would keep the fish and put it on a measuring board or measuring tape on your kayak at the beach when you beach everything and make sure that you get a clear picture of the fish and the measurement I like to get fish measurements on a board as much as I can though no matter what size fish it is besides sharks.

Is there an official species list for the Southwest yet? For fish over 25 inches, do you just submit the weight and a pic?

I got asked about fish measurements. On all fish the measurements should be taking from the tip of the fishes mouth to the tip of its tail not to the fork on the fish.

Does KW have any restrictions on the type of measuring device we use to measure fish?

What are the particulars on the photo with measuring device? Do you need the entire fish and measuring device in the single Photo? Kinda hard to get a Halibut with tape in a single photo while seated in the yak.

All fish 24" and under need to be photographed while being measured. I use a device that I bought at WalMart for $9.99. Anything above that they ask to take a picture with something to gauge the size by. I believe.

Not that I'm aware of but make it easy on them by using a store bought measuring stick. I bought mine at WalMart for $ 9.99.

Yeah, I read the rules. I am more interested in the specifics of what has been accepted in the past for photos.

This is the board that I made up. I cut the board in half and put stainless steal hinges on it that way I can fold it up and put it in my hatch. I don't like that green pull out board myself it is to hard to read the numbers on the board in the pic sometimes. And yes any measuring device works as long as it is flat and you can read the numbers on it.

Mike I bought one of those things but it was super flimsy and I didn't notice it till I got home but one of the edges was busted off. I'm gonna make a board like Brandon posted that folds up. I'll show you when it's done.
