After some time reading FF reports I finally got one.
Thanks for all of the reports guys.
I got the Eagle Cuda 250.
Many thanks to Brian at OEX who showed me a better way to have it mounted than what I had planned.
Took out of Shelter Island this am. In the water at 9:30. Water was cool and current on its way out. I had, as usual, my 2 boys (Jonah and Noah) with me on my yak and my buddy Alex with his son (Jimmy). Made for that bait barge and the current picked up. Are plan was to drift the barge are until it warmed up and then hit the sandy beach for Halibut close to Point Loma.
Saw a few other Kayakers out there but didn’t really see if anyone was catching anything.
Fish Finder worked great. I really liked the GPS. But unfortunately never saw any fish (on the finder or on my hook). My youngest, Noah (the fish magnet), hooked up on a medium sized Bat Ray off the sand and took us for a little ride. Jimmy hook up on a nice sized Sand Bass. Out of the water by 1:15. Not much more to say about catching any fish but it was a nice day on the water with the boys.

Nice

Eagle fish-finders are cool. My 1st one on the yak was a Cuda.

Nice thing about Eagle Cudas is that the same transducer works on those small Lowrance FFs. ALso, they fit on the same mount. That provides an easy upgrade path down the road. I later got Lowrance X67c and M68 (GPS combo). The have the same connector and all work with the same transducer. At least they did in my case...

Quaility time with the boys.. Who needs the fish, right. Too bad my older boy doesn't like to fish off the yak. Thanks for the report.
