La Jolla Thursday-Saturday great fishing!

To start off don’t know what changed but something did and it was amazing.
Thursday: got a late start 7am-7pm found good bait and trolled around got some big bites from threshers. Broke off two times buddy littered one nice Leopard. Did find a very very big shark swimming in the surface and got him to take a surface iron. craziest two minutes ever till he spit the hook probably from a bad hook set. Most likely for the better. Landed my first legal White Sea bass at 30” very pretty fish.
Friday. Next day did the same thing mad baits and trolled around couple thresher bites and break offs. But did get the first yellow tail of the season also my buddy first yellow. Measured in at 52” beast of a fish!
Saturday. Did the same thing made baits and trolled saw some yellows busting and some fly underneath the kayak. Crazy sights finally landed a thresher just had to keep going up in hook and litter size. Ended up using 65lb litter that was 10’ with a 4/0 thick shank circle hook. Overall amazing weekend sometimes your just lucky.

Thumbs up

WOW, see it pays off when you put in time on the water. Congrats on the really nice Yellowtail, your fist legal WSB and your first Thresher. Thanks for sharing, Mark.

52” to the fork? If so that’s a monster yellow. I had one that was 49” to the fork and it was 44lbs.
