Kayak Carts - Kayak Fishing Adventures on Big Water’s Edge

I'm looking to pickup a kayak cart and was curious if anyone has any good/bad experience with any of the carts out there? I've seen the Roleez cart and the Roleez mini and they looked nice however wasn't sure if anyone has any feedback regarding these.

If I remember right the roleez are a little big and bulky. They have the smaller wheel carts with kickstands and two straps at OEX. The kickstand lets you put the boat on the cart without having to hold it in place. MKNOTT

i picked up a older jogging stroller from CL for 15 bucks. it was one of the older versions with 20" tires and a lot of metal tubing and brackets to work with. it's not the prettiest cart on the beach- but it works at less than a third the cost.

a hacksaw/sawsall, drill gun, rivet gun, ballpine (sp?) hammer, a couple of hours and motivation was all it took to convert it into a very useful addition to the arsenal. i think i'll lower the rails a bit so that the center of gravity of the kayak sits lower for travelling over more severe obstacles. i use a ratchet strap to secure the boat to it.

here's a photo of the side:

i flattened out some tubing and attached it for supports to eliminate lateral sway.

it was nice to have some of the brackets already in place to use.

Built one out of PVC. Cheap, easy to build and use and it doesn't rust. I haul it over some rocky beaches, works great.

If soft sand is part of your carting you can't beat a fat tires Roleez. They are magic. Otherwise get something cheaper. EVERY PVC cart I have seen has eventually failed.

Money well spent on the aluminum one that OEX carries, strong, light and not too big.
I busted two PVC ones from torque/twisting of off roading the hump at Shelter.

I recommend the monster cart. The large wheels traverse sand well. You should be able to get them to lower the asking price to around $109 delivered! Any color! The absolute best cart is the roleez but it's very expensive! Piranha

I use this one. No kick stand, so I made a simple one using gray electrical PVC 45 and 90 degree pre-bent elbows. The stand simply slips into the hollow tubes and is extremely strong. Its easily removable if below deck storage is the plan but I leave mine in all the time.

I have the Roleez. It works great over sand and rough surfaces but getting my Extreme to stay on the cart is trickly. The support bars are perpendicular to the kayak rather than parralel like most carts, so the kayak tends to slide/slip off even if I have the strap tight.

I have the Roleez also. I have a Hobie Outback and I have the same problem trying to get the kayak to stay on the cart. I'm going to have to adapt the cart so the bottom of the kayak sets on it better. But I love the cart. No more straining a gut to get it through soft sand.

paddlecart.com. I have had my cart for awhile and it works great! I have a FND and my paddle cart has quick release pins and stows inside no problem. I just make sure I give the bearings a fresh water wash down after each trip and I tri flow them.
