Fishing in Belize

I'm going on 1 week family vacation to Belize over Thanksgiving.

We’ll be staying in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.

From what I read, pretty cool fishing inshore – tarpon, grouper, giant barracuda, all other sorts of fish.

I’m packing up some gear and the seat with 2 rod-holders in the back. The hotel has kayaks available for rent.

I would appreciate any tips and 1st hand experience if you’ve fished there.

Thanks!!!

Have a great trip. I hear they have some good fishing there.

I'm just glad they don't have a West Coast.

Adi, Have fun, about 10 years ago I was down there and went out with some of the local rasta fisherman, they dove for conch and I think we used that for bait, not to mention a delicous conch soup, we caught a mixed bag of fish, I can't remember what (my memories of the trip are kinda of hazy for some reason ) , but we cooked up a nice feast later that night. Definitely talk to the locals, they are some of the friendlist people in the world and they will be glad to show you around and help you out.
