I saw it at ICAST last week, still in prototype (at least the Elite sonar mount is). It looks like a clean, well-engineered solution. I'm hoping to get my hands on the new Lowrance kayak products soon.

Lowrance reps say the through-scupper mount should work on 95% of the sit-on top kayaks out there. I'm still waiting for a list. It would be nice to know where it doesn't work.

Here's a nice thing. The through-scupper mount works with the odd little lightweight "pencil" transducers for Lowrance DSI (downscan) sonars. Those aren't supposed to work through-hull, so without this new through-scupper mount it's a bit of a hassle to install.

During ICAST I posted three or four photos and brief comment on the Kayak Angler Facebook page. Here's the first one. If you're interested you can click to the rest:

Until they can fix the crappy shit that they have already put on the market...
I.E. horrible beta release updates (4.0 update) and shitty maps that do not work, and a "we are too busy to get back to you" "you are not important" attitude... they can take their new scuper plug tranducer mount and plug it/ mount it where the sun don't shine!

I am sure Raymarine and Garmin would love the business!

I was out at West Marine today looking for a FF as I sold my old yak. They had the HDS-5 for 799 ouch! From what I have been reading on this fourm I think I am leaning towards Hummingbird or Garmin! The Garmin GPSMAP421 looks like a good unit as does Hummingbird 385ci but this one has a small screen. Any feedback on these? Lowarance always seemed to be the go to for FF but I am hearing a lot of backlask with the new maps out there....
