Chilly morning on the water...thought I was gonna be fishing this afternoon but forgot that I have school tonight so had to do the morning shift on the water. Sorry Spyder, hope you kill them this evening!!! Consistent pick on spotties and sandies all morning...paddled over to the Bali Hai and drifted right before coming home...I get bit, something small, then full bendo!...Definetly the flat kind, Im stoked, you can tell by the picture I had the gaff in lap ready to stick it. Get it to color and he sees me, takes straight to the bottom then....no mo bendo...DAMN! Reel up to find this little guy mangled, guess I really never had the hali hooked in the fist place, he just didnt want to let go of his lunch...cant blame him, I'd be pissed to...

Good to be out on the water before school.

Anyone fish La Jolla today? Im going tomorrow morning curious what the water temp, color, surf was like...
